I believe that an essential element of the therapeutic process is the bond of trust established between the client and the therapist. I seek to establish a trusting relationship with the client by being genuine, using reflective listening, being empathetic, and by using encouragement. My experience expands from working with those from early childhood, teens, couples, single parents, and blended families. I seek to empower the client by training, coaching, and by supporting positive behavioral changes. One of my basic goals is to provide a safe place for the client to be transparent about different aspects of their life.

My philosophy of therapy is rooted in finding and accentuating the strengths of the client. Using narrative and solution-focused models, I encourage the client to express their story as well as find solutions to challenges that he or she may be facing. Humor plays a large role in my therapy as well, learning to release stress and finding positives play a central role in overcoming many of life’s challenges. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy along with many other models to try to find what is most useful to the client. My interests include working with adolescents and their parents, depression, anger management, bullying and pre-marital/marital counseling.
